Our Story
Fernando
Woosterville Farm - April 23, 2011 our adventure begins.
From stilettos to gum boots or high heel heaven to life on the flat land!
It was a dream I had - I fell in love with being in the country, having a farm... having some llamas?? Originally, we fell in love with alpacas on a trip to New Mexico. Although I loved them, they were a little out of our price range… we came back to work.
July 2009, I was looking at real estate websites and I came across an ad for Millstream Bed & Breakfast Mini-Llama Farm. "What’s that?" I said, "let’s go and check it out" - and thus the story unfolds. It was love at first sight (at least for me). This is where we first laid eyes on mini-llamas and it is probably looking into their eyes that caught me hook, line and sinker!
For the next year I dreamed (schemed??): how can we make this happen? We lived in a condo... but a lifestyle in the country was so appealing - was it possible?
We returned to the llama farm in March and June 2010. Mini-llamas (a smaller version of the original) are inquisitive, curious, easy to handle and are a joy to be around. My husband and I became attached to Fernando and Max during our visits. The two of them were "buddies", chased each other around and were full of mischief and cute!
Fast forward to December 2010. Christmas morning came with two rather spectacular gifts from my husband: Fernando & Max (pictures only that day!), but they had been SOLD to me.
First the llamas, now we had to find a farm (I don't think we did that in the right order!).
Eventually, one has to grasp the dream, throw all caution to the wind and leap in with faith and with the love and support from family and friends.
